Why are clowns / characters dressed so terrible?

I'll be honest, I have 21, married with children, noting an autopsy and yet these clowns and characters with enormous heads scare me. The last time I went to Disneyland to 19, a Tigger freaking me touched my shoulder and I almost wet my pants. Today I met a clown at random in the middle of freaking Wal Mart. Why was there no one knows, but soon people warning others, foreigners, "attention No evil clown electronics. "Apparently I'm not alone in this fear. Do not know why I'm scared. I have never had a traumatic expereince with them They just Disturb. Why? That many other people think clowns are freaking scared as hell?

I do not know not really, because I am also afraid of People with pet costumes. Our school mascot was the statesman, "including a person dressed as a colonial man with a giant head. Very strange and very concern.
